I suggest you ignore people who say you are not qualified if they are referring to your own experience. You are the most qualified person on the planet to write about that. It is when you make general claims about others without empirical evidence where you cross the line. If there is no evidence, start with, for example, “It seems to me that most men are…” and you are safe.
You do make claims in this piece I think are false, but I will presume that because you give no evidence that these are just your impressions and not challenge you on them.
All have read the same damn story, and come away with three conflicting responses that completely miss the point.
When this happens to me, I usually blame my writing, not the reader.
