I just listened to a podcast about lesbians and trans identity and it left me confused. Maybe you can clarify for me as you seem to make the same point.

If lesbians are not cis, they must be trans, right? These are two mutually exclusive categories. If one has not trans'd, they remain cis, based on the Latin root meaning of these prefixes.

So, if a lesbian is a transgender person and a women, what gender did they transition from?
