I think you missed my point. Though I generally agree with your sentiment, where do we draw the line?

I can prove my point with reductio ad absurdum:

You used the term “rich language” and I find that an elitist reference. All languages are equal and everyone needs to recognize that. You’re obviously English centered, because of your colonial privilege. STOP using that term. It is offensive.

Do you see? Who gets to decide? At what point is someone policing what I say as a power or control tactic, rather than having sincere grounds for offense.

People generally are feeling a lot of it is the former and it is creating pushback and divisions. It is naive to think that politics and attempts to gain advantage are not at play too.
