What about people with back problems? If you have weak muscles start out slow, so the weight is carried by your muscles, not your spine.

You may need other exercises to develop your strength first, if you have (or had) a bulging disk.

If you have degenerative disk conditions, this shouldn't be on your list - ever.

I'm not a physiotherapist but I have age related back problems. This is one of the exercises that was crossed off my list.

I'm interested to hear any other advice.
